Hey Alicia! Sorry we got cut off this morning (your night) by my having to tend to a customer...damn work! :)
I have finally caught up to your progress here on your blog (as I've been aweful and busy and out of touch with you). I can't express how impressed with your courage and motivation I am! You keep telling me that you're so slow at this, and that you're lazy for staying a few days in a few spots...but man! Take it easy on yourself! I can't believe what you've done in the past month!
OH, and from one GEEK to another...being able to track your progress on Google Earth is mad cool! :)
So I hope you'll accept a late birthday present now that Charles and I are a little more stable financially, and stay another day out on the trail! Paypay here I come :)
Keep up your incredible strength! Love you!
Hi Alicia!!! After talking to you I got back to looking at your blog. I've printed it out, along with a map of the trail, and am reading it to the girls each night. Feels like reading Lost on a Mountain in Maine to another gaggle of girls!
You don't sound all that lost but rather getting good at finding your way :) I am living this adventure vicariously and am in awe....savor every moment....you are right to give in to the journey.
We are not able to download Google Earth as broadband hasn't reached Cliff yet. Will try in town later. In the mean time I found a map on a decent web site. It had some good info on places to stay, food, even free lodging along the trail that you might be interested in - maybe too little too late but....www.shikokuhenrotrail.com
Thanks for keeping in touch with us. We think of you often! As you know, Sam is keeping track of your place in time :)
Hugs from all XOXOXOXOXO Cheryl
Alicia - guess I'm not a geek, I was able to download Google Earth (I think) but all I can see is up. Is it the night sky from Japan? I'd like to see the ground and temples too, but I guess I will have to wait until you get home for some photos! Keep up the great work and I hope that the last of the journey goes well for you! Kristin
